Russian Center for Science and Culture in Mumbai

The Russian Center for Science and Culture was founded in Bombay (now Mumbai) - the capital of the state of Maharashtra, in India more than 40 years ago. Its grand opening took place on February 8, 1975.
The purpose of the center is to promote Russian culture and science by organizing conferences and seminars, round tables and public discussions, showing Russian films, organizing literary, dance and music programs. At the RCSC in Mumbai, there are Russian language courses, a ballet studio, a cinema club. A. Tarkovsky. The center's library contains more than 15 thousand books in Russian and English, Hindi, Marathi and Urdu. The Foyer of the center regularly hosts exhibitions of famous artists, sculptors, photographers, and designers. Exhibitions of Russian decorative arts and crafts are very popular. The cinema and concert hall hosts festivals of Russian cinema, concerts of art masters. The doors of the RCSC in Mumbai are wide open for compatriots living in Western India. Russian compatriots participate in all programs of the center. Representatives of youth and non-governmental organizations are also frequent guests of the RCSC in Mumbai. At the initiative of the RCSC in Mumbai in 2011, the first and so far the only "Russian" monument was erected in the city - the monument to Yury A. Gagarin.
The RCSC in Mumbai invites all friends of Russia and India to cooperate, is ready to support valuable initiatives and innovative ideas.
